Melanie Fayd’herbe de Maudauve
Teacher: Drama, Dance, Music Theatre
Melanie is a Sydney-based freelance Contemporary dancer/performer, Secondary Dance teacher and Yoga facilitator. She has been teaching Dance in Secondary schools for over a decade specialising in Stage 6 Dance. Melanie is also a qualified Drama and VET Entertainment teacher and an experienced HSC Dance Practical marker for NESA.
In her freelance career, she has toured Nationally and Internationally with Shaun Parker & Company and worked for Australian Companies/Artists including Branch Nebula, Ghenoa Gela, Martin del Amo, Force Majeure, Taikoz, Liz Lea, Jason Pitt, Bernadette Walong-Sene and Narelle Benjamin.
Melanie is also a founding member of Dance Makers Collective and more recent projects include Home, a film in collaboration with Marnie Palomares for Blacktown Arts Centre, Kristina Chan’s Mountain, The Space Between – a duet with Marnie Palomares for Bold Festival & Platform 2019, and Dance Makers Collective’s The Rivoli for Sydney Festival 2020.
Melanie also specialises in teaching Vinyasa and Yin Yoga across various yoga studios in Sydney’s inner west. This practice is implemented in the classroom as part of strength and conditioning for Dance to facilitate Dance technique.
