Congratulations to the Southern Cross Catholic College Burwood Class of 2024 on your outstanding Higher School Certificate (HSC) results!

Twenty-eight per cent of our students achieved Band 5 or Band 6 results. We also recorded nine Distinguished Achievers.

We continue to be a centre for excellence in Vocational Education and Training, with our students completing  55 Certificate II qualifications and 122 Certificate III qualifications.

Our students received 14 nominations for Callback, a showcase of the best in HSC Dance, and one nomination for HSC Music showcase Encore.

Students choose Southern Cross as they desire more than a typical HSC experience and are keen to get a jump start on their chosen career.

Our college was also well represented at the Excellence in VET awards, Sydney catholic Schools’ Executive Director’s Awards, and World Skills Australia competitions.

Two students were World Skills national finalists, with three gold, four silver, and three bronze awards achieved in 2024. Fourteen received Excellence in VET awards.

Southern Cross Principal Tammy Prestage congratulated Year 12 on their fantastic effort and achievements.

She attributed students’ success to their hard work, and to dedicated teachers who know their students and provide continuous and timely feedback.

“We are so proud of the hard work and achievement of all students in dedicating themselves to completing their HSC and multiple VET qualifications,” Ms Prestage said.

“ViVA! students have once again excelled, showcasing the incredible opportunities provided by the SCS ViVA! program based at Southern Cross Catholic College.
