CPC20211 – Certificate II in Construction Pathways

Traineeship

This qualification aims to provide students with the foundation knowledge and elementary skills required to work in the building and associated trades. There are a number of courses available to students based on whether they are completing a school-based Apprenticeship or Traineeship. The qualification is recognised as an entry-level qualification for employment in the construction industry and provides opportunities to:

  • Expand knowledge of the building sector and appreciate sustainable work practices
  • Use a range of standard carpentry and construction materials and tools
  • Develop practical skills in brick and blocklaying, formwork and framing
  • Prepare sites for construction and following standard clean up procedures
  • Read and interpret plans, follow building specifications and accurately apply measurements and calculations.

CONSTRUCTION – SPECIALISATION

Many of our courses offer students the opportunity for deeper study into Year 12. Students are able to specialise in various subjects and improve their employability through receiving higher level qualifications. These specialisations usually run outside of normal college hours, either before or after regular classes and count as additional units towards the HSC qualification.
