Giving students the confidence to make smart financial decisions for life.

Managing money is one of life’s most important skills, yet many young people leave school without the knowledge and confidence to navigate everyday financial decisions.
Financial Success is Southern Cross Catholic College’s comprehensive financial literacy program, designed to equip students with the practical skills they need to become financially confident, independent and responsible adults.
Through engaging, real-world learning, students explore topics including budgeting, earning an income, taxation, superannuation, banking, saving, investing, credit, insurance, consumer rights and major financial decisions such as purchasing a vehicle or home.
Rather than focusing on theory alone, Financial Success challenges students to apply their learning to authentic scenarios they will encounter as young adults. Students develop practical strategies to manage their money, evaluate financial opportunities and risks, and make informed decisions that support their future goals.
The program reflects the College’s commitment to preparing students not only for employment and further study, but for the responsibilities and opportunities of adult life.
Students develop practical knowledge and skills in areas including:
- Setting financial goals and creating personal budgets
- Understanding payslips, tax and superannuation
- Banking, saving and managing everyday expenses
- Responsible use of credit and avoiding debt
- Investing and building long-term wealth
- Consumer rights and making informed purchasing decisions
- Financial planning for major life milestones
Financial Success empowers students to leave school with the knowledge, confidence and decision-making skills to build a secure financial future.
