Congratulations to the Southern Cross Catholic College Burwood Class of 2025 on your Higher School Certificate (HSC) results.

Southern Cross Catholic College Burwood Principal, Tammy Prestage, congratulated Year 12 students on their achievements, highlighting the strength of results across both academic and vocational pathways.

A standout achievement was Claire Naschenweng’s First in State result in Entertainment Industry at Southern Cross as part of our extensive EVET program, reflecting the College’s strong performing arts and vocational programs.

The College also recorded strong outcomes across Vocational Education and Training (VET), with many courses performing above the state average. This included students who commenced courses early in Year 10 and Year 11, demonstrating sustained commitment and success across multiple years of study. In total, students achieved 124 Certificate III qualifications and 42 Certificate II qualifications, underscoring the breadth and quality of pathways available.

Performing arts students excelled, with HSC nominations recognising their talent and dedication, alongside achievements such as an NESA’s prestigious CALLBACK nominations in Music, Dance and Drama.

Ms Prestage said the College’s results reflect a deliberate and strategic approach to senior pathways.

“The key to our HSC successes has been a clear focus on placing each student in the right course, aligned to their strengths and aspirations,” Ms Prestage said. “Our ATAR-dedicated classes provide targeted support for students on this pathway, allowing us to maximise individual potential while lifting overall performance across the cohort.”

She said the Class of 2025 stood out for their passion, advocacy and engagement with their learning.

“What has impressed me most is the way students embraced their chosen pathways and recognised the value of the opportunities available to them at the College,” Ms Prestage said. “Many achieved outcomes that would not have been possible elsewhere.”

“Their success reflects not only academic achievement, but significant personal growth, with students reaching a level of success greater than they had previously experienced.”
